Steel Body

What is Steel Body?
Steel Body is the cultivation of internal pressure “chi” that can be controlled on cue by the practitioner. It goes beyond the concept of an iron like cover for the body and it reaches into another level. It is a way of training that makes the body as resilient as steel yet as soft as rubber. When learnt properly the body can withstand enormous blows without sustaining any injury.

What Does the Training Involve?
There is a natural progression in Steel Body training. Lessons begin with students learning special methods of energy & muscle control. Steel Body muscle control is like learning to wiggle your ears. Some people can do it instinctively but most need to find out how to consciously tune into the muscles and influence them. At first nothing happens, however once the link between the conscious mind and the body is established, it is easy to do and after a while it becomes automatic. Once the initial stage is reached natural progression is a given and only requires proper guidance and practice.

Steel Body and Contact Sports
Nei jia trains the players bodies to be flexible like rubber, so they can absorb any energy that is directed at them or send the energy and pressure in the opposite direction. The power output developed occurs naturally on impact and causes the body to become like metal all over in a fraction of a second causing anything making contact to be penetrated by a sharp jolt of kinetic energy. This is called “spring power” and once a player achieves this level, their ability to take even the biggest of hits, and charge full speed into opposing players becomes as natural as passing the ball, knowing that they are far more resilient against injury, and able to project much more power than ever before. The players gain a unique psychological edge over their opposition, which can make all the difference in competitive sport.

Our Unique Difference
Nei Jia has been described as a form of moving “chi Kung”. The build up of air pressure within the body and the increased flow of “chi” internal energy adds to the amount of internal force which can be generated and controlled by the practitioner. The combined blood and air pressure is bought under conscious control so that it can be instantly increased or decreased at will. One moment your body can be soft and pliable and the next it can be transformed with explosive force to be strong like steel.

When most people think of natural weapons they include fists, fingers, elbows, feet, palms, head - all body parts that can be used to reach and punish an opponent.

However the entire body becomes a weapon system including chest, back, shoulders, hips and any other part of the trunk as well as the limbs. The following examines a technique known as Steel Body which uses the body as amour making it impervious to blows and kicks and useful as a variety of additional weapons. No part of the body is excluded as a tool of combat. Once students have developed the Steel Body skill it will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

The technique controls the body's internal pressure and muscle reaction, passes into the subconscious or automatic mind and springs into action whenever it is needed. A high standard can he achieved in a matter of months.
